Obituary

Chad Allen Bundy, a beloved son, brother, and father, passed away peacefully in his hometown of Wilson, NC on September 9, 2023. Born on August 1, 1976, to Lela Gail Etheridge, Chad was a pillar of strength and a beacon of warmth in the lives of his family and friends.

Chad was a vivacious soul, known for his selfless nature, friendly demeanor, and spirited personality. He was a dedicated sports enthusiast, a fervent follower of NASCAR and a passionate fan of Dale Earnhardt Jr. He also loved football and was an unwavering supporter of the Dallas Cowboys. Chad's interests were as diverse as his personality. He enjoyed fishing, savored his time at the beach, and loved dining out with his friends. His heart of gold was evident in his readiness to help anyone in need. He was a hard worker, committed to any task he undertook, and his loss will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.

Family was the cornerstone of Chad's life. He is survived by his loving mother, Lela Gail Etheridge of Wilson, NC. He was a devoted father to his children, Tyler, Dillian, Landon, and Ally. He also leaves behind his brother, Glen Bundy and his wife Trisha of Wilson, NC, and his sister, Amanda King and her husband Joey of Orange Park, FL. Chad's legacy will live on through his many nieces, nephew, aunts, and uncles. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Gladys Lamm and Robert Russell Etheridge, and his uncle, James Etheridge. Also surviving is the mother of his youngest three children Heather Carter.

The words of Ralph Waldo Emerson aptly describe Chad's approach to life: "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children...to leave the world a bit better...to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Chad's life was indeed a success, as he touched countless lives with his kindness and generosity.

Chad Allen Bundy's life was a testament to the strength of human spirit, the joy of companionship, and the beauty of selflessness. As we remember Chad, we celebrate a life well-lived, a man well-loved, and a spirit that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to know him. His memory will forever remain etched in our hearts. May he rest in peace.
