Cheryl Smith Obituary

It is with heartfelt warmth and fond remembrance that we celebrate the life of Cheryl Eileen Smith, affectionately known as Cheryl, who graced this world with her presence on May 11, 1963, born in the sun-kissed city of Key West, FL. Cheryl's journey on earth came to a peaceful close Saturday, February 8, 2025 at her home enveloped by the love of her family, leaving a legacy of joy and creativity that will forever be cherished by those who knew her. Cheryl's life was a tapestry of love and dedication, woven with the golden threads of her relationships.

She was the beloved mother of three daughters, Tori Smith of Wilson, NC, Kimberlyn Beebe and her husband, Michael, of Leesburg, FL, and Natalie Donahue and her wife, Roselyn, of Hanover, MD. The light of her life shone brightly through her grandchildren, Angel and Jacob Beebe, who filled her days with laughter and purpose. Cheryl was a cherished daughter to her mother, Gloria Fox of Ohio, and a sister who shared an unbreakable bond with Christina Jackson of Dover, DE, and Stephanie Coggle and her husband, Andy, of FL. She also leaves behind her brothers, Bill Miller and his wife, Becky, of Bellefontaine, OH, and Rick Miller and his wife, Tammy, of OK. who will carry forward her indomitable spirit.

Cheryl's zest for life was evident in her diverse interests and hobbies. She found solace in the serenity of her garden, cultivating beauty with as much care as she nurtured her relationships. The kitchen was Cheryl's canvas, where she expressed her creativity through baking and cake decorating, delighting everyone with her culinary masterpieces. Evenings spent playing cards or Yahtzee were filled with her infectious laughter and competitive spirit. Her artistic talents extended to arts and crafts, where her hands skillfully created beauty from the mundane. A true adventurer at heart, Cheryl relished the joys of traveling and camping, exploring the great outdoors and creating memories that would last a lifetime. Her love for good food was undeniable, with a particular fondness for a well-prepared steak. The melodies of Billy Joel often accompanied her throughout the day, inspiring her with the simple yet profound lyrics that spoke to her soul. Cheryl's passion for "whodunit" mysteries kept her mind sharp and her curiosity piqued, always eager to unravel the next enigma.

Above all, Cheryl's love for her family was the cornerstone of her existence. She reveled in the joys of seeing her grandchildren grow, each moment with them more precious than the last. Described by those who knew her as loving, adventurous, and creative, Cheryl's warm embrace and vibrant spirit left an indelible mark on the hearts of many. As we bid farewell to Cheryl, we are reminded of the words of Helen Keller, "What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us."  May we all find comfort in knowing that Cheryl's spirit will always be with us, in the beauty of a garden in bloom, the warmth of a freshly baked cake, and the joy of a family gathered in love and laughter.
