Eddie Lee Huffman, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2024, at his home in Wilson, NC. Born on February 3, 1947, in the humble surroundings of Clay County, Mississippi, Eddie's life was a testament to the strength and resilience of his loving spirit.
Eddie's journey through life was filled with the warmth of a devoted family and the satisfaction of meaningful work. He leaves behind his beloved wife of over 20 years, Amalia Gallegos Estrada, who was his partner in both love and life and a bear to his children who were his little bears. Together, they created a home that was a sanctuary of joy and kindness. Eddie's legacy continues through his children, Cory Huffman of Little Rock, AR; Erica Huffman and her husband, Clay Mckay of Mathiston, MS; Gamaliel and Gabriel Guerrero of Wilson, NC; Hugo Zuriel Guerrero of Mexico; and Carmen Vazquez and her husband, Gerardo of Wilson, NC. His six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jimmy and Pauline Huffman and by his sons, Eddie Huffman Jr. and Frankie Huffman; his daughter, Ivy Sue Huffman; and his sister, Mary Lue Ferguson. The strength and grace with which he faced these losses were an inspiration to all who knew him.
Professionally, Eddie was known for his skilled hands and creative mind. As a welder and woodworker, he crafted not just structures and objects, but also relationships and a reputation for reliability and excellence. His work was more than a job; it was a reflection of his dedication to providing for his family.
Eddie's life was rooted in his faith as a devout Christian, which guided him in his daily actions and interactions. He found joy in simple pleasures like cooking, fishing, and caring for his beloved cats and his dog Luna. His love for the outdoors was only matched by the love he had for his family and friends.
Known for his loving nature and being funny, Eddie never met a stranger. His ability to connect with people, to share a story, or to lend a helping hand was one of his most endearing qualities. Friends and family will remember him for his quick wit, his generous heart, and the ease with which he brought laughter into any room.
A funeral service will be held 11:00AM, Friday, December 6, 2024 at Iglesia Adventista del Séptimo día, 2004 Charleston St. SE, Wilson, NC 27893 with Pastor Louis Espino and Pastor Sonny Griswold officiating. The Family will receive friends One hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson, NC.

El funeral se llevará a cabo el viernes 6 de diciembre de 2024 a las 11:00 a.m. en la Iglesia Adventista del Séptimo día, 2004 Charleston St. SE, Wilson, NC 27893 con el pastor Louis Espino y el pastor Sonny Griswold oficiando. La Familia recibirá a los amigos una hora antes de la servicio. El entierro seguirá al servicio en el cementerio de Maplewood, Wilson, NC.
