Elena Marie Pisarik Koutouzos, affectionately known as Lane to those who knew and adored her, left this world on June 27, 2024, at the age of 35. Born on September 14, 1988, in Princeton, NJ, Lane blossomed into a radiant and vivacious soul who touched the lives of everyone she met.
Lane was a beacon of light and love, leaving behind a legacy of joy and dedication. She is survived by her devoted mother, Connie Sievert, and her husband Vince of Rocky Mount, NC; her loving brother, John Pisarik, and Victoria of Greer, SC; her cherished aunt, Ninfa Baiardi of Rocky Mount, NC; her doting nieces, Callie and Sophia Pisarik, and their mother Christina Pisarik, of Zebulon, NC; and her playful nephews, Wesley and Waylon Sievert of Bailey, NC. Lane also leaves behind her step-brothers, Travis Sievert and his wife Krista of Bailey, NC, and Wayne Sievert of Wilson, NC, as well as numerous extended family members who will forever remember her kindness and warmth. She is predeceased by her father, Joseph C. Pisarik, whose memory she held close to her heart.
An alumnus of Wesleyan College, Lane graduated in 2010 with a double major in Accounting and Business Administration. She furthered her education at NC State, earning a master’s in accounting in 2011. Her academic achievements laid the foundation for a remarkable career. Lane served as a CPA and public notary, and her professional journey was marked by her tenure as Director and financial aid at Wesleyan College in 2016-2017, followed by her role as Controller at Standard Insurance from 2017 to 2024.
Lane's life was a reflection of her beliefs and passions. She found strength and solace in her Catholic faith. Her love for her dog Frankie was immeasurable, as she was not just a pet but a member of her family. Lane's spirit was characterized by her loving nature, a carefree attitude, and a beautifully kind heart. Her work ethic was unparalleled, and she approached every task with determination and grace.
Not one to sit idle, Lane relished in life's adventures. She loved hiking through nature's splendor, feeling the rush of roller coasters, and soaking in the sounds and energy of live concerts. Lane's festive spirit shone brightly during her favorite holidays: the 4th of July, Halloween, and Christmas, each celebrated with gusto and joy.
The love story of Lane and her high school sweetheart, Emmanual "Manoli" Koutouzos, is one for the ages. The couple were wed on October 31, 2015 which was on Elena’s favorite time of the year, Halloween and had a ceremony that captured their unique bond and shared sense of humor. Together, they navigated life's journey with laughter and love.
Lane's philosophy on life was simple yet profound: "Look at a day when you are supremely satisfied at the end. It's not a day when you lounge around doing nothing; it's a day you've had everything to do and you've done it." This sentiment perfectly encapsulates her approach to life—full of purpose, joy, and accomplishment.
Described by those who knew her as loving and funny, Lane's infectious laughter and genuine kindness will be deeply missed. Her spirit will continue to inspire those she leaves behind, serving as a guiding light for her family and friends.
As we bid farewell to Lane, we celebrate the life of a woman whose presence was a gift to us all. Her laughter, her love, and her zest for life will be forever etched in the hearts of those who loved her. Lane's journey on earth may have concluded, but her spirit will forever dance among the stars.
A celebration of life will be held 3:00PM on Saturday July 13, 2024 at the home of the family.
