Esmeralda "Esme" Baza Renteria

Esmeralda “Esme” Baza Renteria, 19, passed away at her home on Saturday, February 18, 2023. She was born on April 27, 2003 in Wilson, NC, a daughter of Sergia Baza, and Agustin Renteria Gonzales.  

A native of Wilson. She was known to be an outgoing person who was always happy and enjoying life.  She loved to visit the beach, listen to music and spend time with her family and friends. Her smile was contagious and could brighten up anyone’s day. Esmeralda will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

Surviving in addition to her parents are her sisters, Ericka Acevedo and husband Alejandro of Stantonsburg, NC, Rosalinda Gonzales of Wilson, NC; brothers, Gerardo Renteria of Stantonsburg, NC, Yobani Renteria and Emiliano Renteria of Guerrero, MX; nephews, Darian Acevedo and Ethan Gerardo Renteria of Stantonsburg, NC and many extended family members.

Esmeralda is pre-deceased by her grandparents Maria Gonzales Lopez and Juan Renteria Estrada.

The family will receive friends at the home Friday, March 3, 2023, at 5:00 PM with a Rosary starting at 7:00 PM. Graveside rites will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, March 4, 2023, in Maplewood Cemetery in Wilson, NC with Father Daniel Pinell Celebrant.

Esmeralda “Esme” Baza Rentería, de 19 años, falleció en su casa el sábado 18 de febrero de 2023. Nació el 27 de abril de 2003 en Wilson, NC, hija de Sergia Baza y Agustín Rentería Gonzales.

 Esmeralda se crió en Wilson, NC. Era conocida por ser una persona extrovertida que siempre estaba feliz y disfrutando de la vida. Le encantaba visitar la playa, escuchar música y pasar tiempo con su familia y amigos. Su sonrisa era contagiosa y podía alegrar el día de cualquiera. Esmeralda será extrañada mucho por todos los que la conocieron.

  Además de sus padres, sobreviven sus hermanas, Ericka Acevedo y su esposo Alejandro de Stantonsburg, NC, Rosalinda Gonzales de Wilson, NC; hermanos, Gerardo Rentería de Stantonsburg, NC, Yobani Rentería y Emiliano Rentería de Guerrero, MX; sobrinos, Darian Acevedo y Ethan Gerardo Rentería de Stantonsburg, NC y muchos miembros de la familia extendida.

Esmeralda fue prefallecida por sus abuelos, María González López y Juan Rentería Estrada.

 La familia recibirá a amigos en la casa el viernes 3 de marzo de 2023 a las 5:00 PM con un Rosario a las 7:00 PM. Los ritos junto a la tumba se llevarán a cabo a las 10:00 AM el sábado 4 de marzo de 2023 en el cementerio de Maplewood en Wilson, NC con el Padre Daniel Pinell Celebrante.
