George Thomas Newcomb

Reverend George Thomas Newcomb, 66, of Kenly, NC passed away Monday, September 19, 2022, at Wilson Medical Center in Wilson, NC.

A native of Wilson County George was born June 25, 1956, a son of the late William Thomas Newcomb, Sr. and Ethel Whitley Newcomb. George was an avid outdoorsman and sportsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was retired from the city of Wilson where he worked as a maintenance technician. George loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a member of Saratoga Holiness Church. He was a loving father, brother, uncle and never met a stranger.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Angel Dawn Newcomb; granddaughter, Sarenity Ann Moore both of Walstonburg, NC; sisters, Dorothy Mayo and husband, Dennis of Bailey, NC and Susie Mumford and husband Buddy of Eureka, NC; brothers, William Thomas Newcomb, Jr. and wife, Peggy and Brian Newcomb of Raleigh, NC. George is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents Mr. Newcomb was predeceased by his wife, Joy Newcomb and son, George Thomas Clay Newcomb.

The family will receive friends Friday, September 23, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at his church, Saratoga Holiness Church 8307 Rebecca St., Saratoga, NC 27883 with a funeral service being held at Saratoga Holiness Church on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at 11:00 am with the Reverend Lonnie Humphrey and Reverend William Thomas Newcomb, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park.
