Jeffrey Bennett Jenkins 52, of Black Creek, NC passed away on Saturday August 24, 2024. Jeffrey was born October 14, 1971, a son of the late Gerald Jenkins and Shirley Carter Jenkins, and lived most of his life in Lenoir County. He proudly served as an Animal Control Officer for the City of Rocky Mount Police Department.
Jeff had a quiet demeanor until he got to know you well. He didn’t believe in talking unless he thought he had something to contribute to a conversation. He loved history and had a wry sense of humor that often snuck up on people. Jeff loved his mother-in-law’s collards more than anything in the world — except maybe donuts. He loved animals. Jeff loved caring for them and adopting as many of them as Pam would let him bring home. His Goldie Girl is already lost without him.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Swinson Jenkins of the home; sons, Matt Jenkins and his fiancé, Cheyenne Sizemore of Statesville, NC, Zack Keech and his wife, Brooke of Hillsbourgh, NC, Caden Keech and his girlfriend, Sabrina Crouse of Indian Trail, NC; brother, Gary Jenkins of Kinston, NC; Father and Mother-in-law, Reverend Harold and Elaine Swinson of Richlands, NC; Jeff’s special four legged friends, his dogs Goldie and Ringo, and many extended family and friends.
Please be in prayer for the Jenkins family with special prayers for Jeff’s son, Matt and his little family as they are expecting a baby in just a few days.
A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held in Heritage Hall at Little Rock Original Free Will Baptist Church on Sunday September 22, 2024 at 3:00 PM with the Reverend Kelly Smart officiating.
