The Last Stage Out - Peering out the window to the dusty street below, looking for the last Stage Out, waiting for it to show. my ticket had long been paid for, time had elapsed, near to expiring, Time, my hand had finally clasped.

Being too old to struggle and too old to really care, Time, had been relentless, pursuing me, I'm there, t'was a good trip, although at times was rather fast, looking back it seems, that good times never last.

Will I leave a hole? that my friends will have to fill, or will i just disappear, taking the last Stage on the hill,

It seems the answer, is rumbling down the street, with four good horses pulling it, Time you cannot beat.

Say goodbye to all your friends, arrangements have been made, there is awaiting you, a tree, full of shade.

Father Time has just arrived. now let the fun begin, I'm on the last Stage Out, and running with the wind!

Wonder who is riding shotgun??      Johnny Ray Walker
