Larry Wayne Smith, 68, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Wilson Medical Center in Wilson, NC. Mr. Smith was born in Charlottesville, VA., September 17, 1953, a son of the late C. Stanley Smith and Virginia Mawyer Smith. Larry never met a stranger and enjoyed grilling for his family and friends which in turn led his family to give him the title Grill Master. He loved motor sports and classic cars. Larry enjoyed his adventures and walks with his furry companion Izzie. Mr. Smith was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Cheryl Smith of the home; daughters, Tori Smith of Wilson, NC, Kimberlyn Beebe and Husband, Michael of Leesburg, FL, Natalie Donahue and wife, Roselyn of Ellicott City, MD and Julie Smith of Virginia Beach, VA; son, Christopher Smith of Pittsburg, PA; grandchildren Angel and Jacob Beebe of Leesburg, FL and Gavin Smith of Pittsburg, PA. Also surviving is his special nephew Scott Smith and his mother, Evelyn and her husband, Dennis. Many nieces and nephews and several cousins also survive. In addition to his parents Larry was predeceased by his brother, Mike Smith. A celebration of his life will be held 2:00 PM Monday, February 14, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Wilson, 311 Nash St N, Wilson, NC 27893 with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service.
