Marta Maria (Barquero) Oyola

Marta Maria Barquero Oyola, a beacon of love and devotion, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2024, in Wilson, NC, at the age of 83. Born on May 26, 1940, in the vibrant heart of Costa Rica, Marta's life was a testament to the enduring power of love and family. Marta's journey began in the lush surroundings of San Jose, Costa Rica, where her spirit was nurtured by the rich culture and traditions of her homeland. Her love for her roots was evident in her frequent visits back to her birthplace, a tradition that kept her connected to her heritage throughout her life.

In her youth, Marta's path crossed with Segundo Oyola, and together they embarked on a journey of companionship that would span over five decades. Their enduring marriage was blessed with the birth of their children, Margarita Oyola of Costa Rica and Luis Oyola of Ecuador. In addition to her children, she leaves behind her stepdaughter Jackie Oyola and nephew James Anderson of Miami FL, along with many extended family.

Marta poured her heart into creating a warm and welcoming home, filled with love and laughter, that stood as a sanctuary for her family.
Marta's Catholic faith was a cornerstone of her existence, guiding her through life's challenges and joys with grace and resilience. Those who knew Marta were touched by her loving nature, a quality that she effortlessly exuded in every aspect of her life. To remember Marta is to recall a woman whose very essence was defined by her love for her family, her unwavering faith, and her proud Costa Rican heritage. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Graveside rites will be held Tuesday 10:00AM in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson, NC with father Fernando Torres celebrant.

Marta María Barquero Oyola, un faro de amor y devoción, falleció pacíficamente el 24 de febrero de 2024 en Wilson, NC, a la edad de 83 años. Nacida el 26 de mayo de 1940, en el vibrante corazón de Costa Rica, la vida de Marta fue un testimonio del poder duradero del amor y la familia.

El viaje de Marta comenzó en San José, Costa Rica, donde su espíritu se alimentó de la rica cultura y tradiciones de su tierra natal. Su amor por sus raíces era evidente en sus frecuentes visitas a su lugar de nacimiento, una tradición que la mantuvo conectada a su herencia durante toda su vida.

En su juventud, el camino de Marta se cruzó con el de Segundo Oyola, y juntos se embarcaron en un viaje de compañerismo que se extendería a lo largo de cinco décadas. Su duradero matrimonio fue bendecido con el nacimiento de sus hijos Margarita Oyola de Costa Rica y Luis Oyola de Ecuador. Además de sus hijos, deja atrás a su hijastra Jackie Oyola y a su sobrino James Anderson de Miami FL, junto con familiares extendidos. Marta puso todo su corazón en crear un hogar cálido y acogedor, lleno de amor y risas, que sirviera de santuario para su familia.

La fe católica de Marta fue la piedra angular de su existencia, guiándola a través de los desafíos y alegrías de la vida con gracia y resiliencia. Quienes conocieron a Marta quedaron conmovidos por su naturaleza amorosa, una cualidad que ella irradiaba sin esfuerzo en todos los aspectos de su vida.

Recordar a Marta es recordar a una mujer cuya esencia estaba definida por su amor por su familia, su fe inquebrantable y su orgullosa herencia costarricense. Su memoria será atesorada y mantenida viva en los corazones de todos los que tuvieron la suerte de conocerla.

Los ritos junto a la tumba se llevarán a cabo el martes a las 10:00AM en el cementerio Maplewood, Wilson, NC, con el padre Fernando Torres celebrante.
