Michael Lynn Howard

Michael Lynn Howard, affectionately known as Mike to his friends and family, passed away on January 26, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family in Middlesex, NC. Born on February 23, 1970, in Wilson, NC, Mike's zest for life left an indelible mark on everyone he met throughout his 53 years.

Mike is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Crystal Howard, of the home. He was a devoted father to his daughters, Missy Howard Batten, and her husband, Steven, of Bailey, NC and Mylae Ayscue of the home. His love extended to his bonus children, Matt and Megan Stalls of Bethel, NC and Nick Barnes of Middlesex, NC. Mike was a proud brother to Lee Howard of Walstonburg, NC; Ritchie Howard and his wife, Angel, of Pinetops, NC; Scott Howard and his wife Becky of Rockwell, NC; and His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Mikayla Foster, Ashton Batten, Darray Lynch, and McKenna Batten. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Always by his side were his furry companions, Cotton and Mo, who brought him immense joy. He was predeceased by his parents, Melvin and Joyce Howard, and his beloved dogs, Bella and Reese also preceded him in death.

Beyond the cab of his truck, Mike's passions were as robust and down-to-earth as he was. He enjoyed watching dirt track racing, the quiet patience of hunting, and the simple pleasure of grilling.

A celebration of Mike's life will be a testament to the man who lived with his whole heart and left a legacy of laughter, love, and the courage to take the road less traveled. He taught us to face life's journey with a steady hand on the wheel and to find joy in the detours and bumps along the way.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 2:00 PM at his residence with the Reverend Jim Robertson pastor of Union Hope Baptist Church in Zebulon, NC officiating. There will be a reception following the service.
