Paydon James Maxwell, a vibrant and spirited soul, left this world too soon on May 12, 2024, at the young age of 18. Born on December 18, 2005, in Durham, NC, Paydon brought laughter and joy to all who knew him throughout his life.
Paydon grew up in the loving arms of his family. He was the cherished son of Melanie DeWald and her husband Jason Early, and Gary Maxwell of Roxboro, NC. His playful spirit was nurtured by his brothers, Rhylan Maxwell, Brighton, and Beau-Avery Early, with whom he shared an unbreakable bond. Paydon was blessed with a supportive family, including his maternal grandparents, Wanda Wilson and her husband Charlie of Hertford, NC, and Richard DeWald and his wife Carol of Roxboro, NC, as well as his paternal grandmother, Adrianna Landeros of Roxboro, NC. Also surviving Paydon are many aunts, uncles, extended family that he loved very much and friends. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Gary Maxwell, Sr, and his beloved four-legged friend, Daisy Mae.
Paydon's life was a testament to the beauty of simplicity and the pursuit of happiness in everyday moments. He was a student of life itself, embracing each day with an eagerness to learn from the world around him. His interests were as genuine as his smile—four-wheeling across rugged trails and doing burnouts any chance he got. He admired the sleek lines of cars, and casting a line into the still waters on a fishing trip. These activities brought him peace and a sense of connection to the world.
Those who knew Paydon will remember him as the embodiment of friendliness and sarcasm. His laughter was contagious, and his presence could light up a room. His goofy nature made it impossible not to crack a smile when in his company. Paydon aimed for the best and his enthusiasm for life was as evident as a bright North Carolina sky.
As we bid farewell to Paydon James Maxwell, we do so with the knowledge that his journey was one of genuine happiness and heartfelt connections. He may have left this world too soon, but the impact he made will endure forever. Paydon's life, though brief, was a reminder that the quality of our days far outweighs the quantity. He will be deeply missed and eternally treasured by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
A celebration of life will be held at the home on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 5:30PM.
